Journal 48: Haiku

Art is colorful
A man on the mountain side
Blowing his cool flute

The dessert is plain
A few bones here and up there
A plain tan color

Beautiful water
A glare of the morning rise
Small fish swim there waters

Journal 41: Poetry

It has unique forms of writing, standing on a subject and explaining it top to bottom. Poems have similarities to other forms of writing because they use something like a paragraph. They use stanzas, just like paragraphs but a little smaller. They also have imagery, which generally this is taste, smell, sounds, sight, and emotions.  They use some vocabulary as well as some grammar. Yes, they can that type of poem would be an ode.
A poem does not need grammar or vocabulary. I see some poems on the internet, these are famous poems and are used for making money. Poems are a very stylish way of writing, poetry should be something every won should practice once and a while.

Journal 42: Ode

The cool mountain wind
A cool breath of fresh air into me
Oh how refreshing

Boiling desert wind
A cruel harmful wind of death
Oh how refreshing

A nice cool smoothie
A fine brain freeze of the morning
Oh how refreshing

Journal 56: Lost in the Woods

I would quickly build a fire to stay warm and to keep the bugs out. I would build a shelter out of  branches or build on a tree. (This depends where I am at.) It would take hours but for my survival I need to get water, you can survive one month without food. I don't want to munch on worms just yet. I would make a spear for defending myself, just in case. After 1 day I will go south, or north depends where I am at. I can hike my way to safety in about 4 days. Or 3 weeks if I am in Canada. I know allot of survival tactics, I know how to make a fire in about 30 min. with just wood. I know where to find water, you just need to dig a hole in the ground and you will find water, even in the desert. I also know how to kill a bear with a spear very easily, when the bear stand and about to pound on you to kill you. You put that spear on the ground and the spear will go right though the bear.  It does not depend which environment I am in, I know skills for each one and I have tested them; being lost in the mountains and being lost in a desert use two different survival skills. I was never really lost but there was this one time in Idaho, I was lost in the woods and there was no sign of home. My brother was with me; I knew that the foolish thing to do was to build a shelter and prepare for the night. We were to close to home; so we shouted "Help!" "Help!" Constantly. This seemed to do the trick my parents found my brother and I and there we go.

Journal 61: Film v Book

The story generally is the same, the characters seem to say the same things as in the book. There is a boy hatchet and the wilderness as the book described.  The boy Brian did not softly land on the water on purpose. In the movie the boy Brian runs out of fuel and leaps the plane into the lake. The boy Brian had his mind tell him all these things. I saw none of that in the movie. Another thing different is the hatchet looked way smaller that I first thought. I expected a large metal ax. Brian also looked different in my head than in the movie. In the movie he is blond, but on the cover of the book he has black hair. The author has the original picture in hes/her mind. The filmmaker has a different view. The author  has the picture in his mind, but maybe not in our mind. The filmmaker pictured a blond boy and a tiny hatchet I guess. I pictured a black-haired boy with a large hatchet swinging it around. This means there is a unknown mystery, we don't know for sure how or what it looks like, we can only imagine it...

Journal 60: Hip-Hot Language

Oh yeah I have a gangsta language
But not a hamsta language
I am tough on the street and on the road.
I do not jump around
Hey fools get off my lawn
They call the cops and I am gone.
Lets go hang out and have some fun
Hey fools get off my lawn

I am the master of immortality
I dont play world of war craft
Because that is for babys
I fight Chuck Norris everyday
and I beat him everyday
Hey fools get off my lawn

I play basketball everyday
I never go and play
I stick to the tack
and I wear a mask
and don't ask me why
because I will just makeup a good lie
it doesn't matter if you cry
I will just say "Suck it up boy, don't cry"
I eat anything I want and do what ever I want
It doesn't matter if you go by
Hey fools get off my lawn

I am the master at video games
I am greatest and the fastest
I clap the loudest
Hey fools get off my lawn

I am the captain of dodge ball
as well as basket ball
as well as captain ball
I am tall and I say "Play ball!"
Now I start to call I only choose the best
I made a team crest
Hey fools get off my lawn

Journal 59: Epic Language

The TV is so handy
so I named it so.
with it we can watch the the cool wind as soft as snow
my brother likes to watch TV shows about candy.
some times the shows are slow
some times we can get TV on the go
The TV is a handy gadget.
It is almost like magic.
As my eyes watch it.
While my ears hear it.
I start to cry
Justen bieber is on TV
So I clear the building.
Or I can just change the channel
I do so with a pleasant smile.

The TV is very handy
I put away the candy
But the TV is still handy
I turn it back on
Hey where is sean
I turn on the next channel
I hear a strange tune then I hear these words "Baby Baby Oh Oh Oh"
I unplug the TV
I plug it in and change the channel and watch a movie
I take out the candy
Then my mom starts cooking
For some reason my brother starts choking
It turns out he was just sick of Terminator 2
I ponder in my mind "Why did I start at number 2?"
and in my own words I say "This is what the TV was not meant for."

Journal 57: What Makes Fire?

Brian explained in the book he needed oxygen, heat and a spark. Without the oxygen to keep the fire going the flames will choke and there wont be any heat or any spark. You need a spark to light the fire but its easier to light the fire with heat but in Canada it is very unlikely to get much heat to start the fire easily. Brian tried making a fire by rubbing two sticks together if somewon where to make a question of this I would have said it would take hours to make a fire that way. Brian needed heat mostly, it was too cold and making a fire with wood and rubbing them together would take even longer. Brian failed to start the fire because he needed heat, no heat no fire. There needs to be heat to start any fire. If you turn on a car in a 50 below weather in Alaska, there is a good change it wont start since it takes a spark to light the fire, without heat you cannot create a fire.

Brian also tried using a friction method, he failed big time he needed more heat as I described. I also saw he did not gather any materials to burn the fire, he then gathered some leaves and twigs but none of those worked. Leaves are the hardest to burn. But if its dead leaves then it burns quickly and this does not help Brian.

Journal 58: Luck?

Yes, his chances of surviving depends on his knowledge, his skills, and most important, luck. Brian watched TV
shows that gained him experience in the wilderness this allowed him to find his way to rescue are the end. Brian develops new knowledge while in the wilderness because he watched the birds and memorized new tricks while in the wilderness. I experienced some wilderness when I was in Alaska I learned how to make a fire easy. (Not rubbing two sticks together.) I have got out of a situation simply by luck. Two moose was at my front door and I mean they where really close, they could have charged and gave me a really big browse. They left and every won was fine.
Another time was when I was in Idaho we had a male goat that was really protective, by luck he did not attack me for 3 whole years, But what bad luck he attacked my brother. He is fine but it was a very dangerous situation.
I have experience for making a fire you simply skid two sticks together. Very quickly it will start smoking and you can handle it from there. A fire can be used to keep animals away and to keep the bugs from biting you while you sleep.

Journal 55: Personal Assets

In the book Hatchet; Brian watched informational TV shows and he had a hatchet. He has knowledge and perseverance.  The secret, divorce, etc. Survival skills and knowledge in computer science. My greatest asset is knowledge and perseverance. (Like the boy Brian in hatchet.) My knowledge in computer science helps me succeed in life because it allows me to get a A in my computer class. My survival skills would allow me to survive in the wilderness because I have 3 years of constant survival training in the wilderness. I might have a problem with the water supplies because I do not have the experience to collect it.

Journal 54: Solving Problems

I remember when I was watching a history show about people hunting in Alaska. They where hunting moose in this deep snow; they said the solution was to buy snow shoes. One day I was walking in this very deep snow, it was long and hard and cold. The snow got deeper and deeper and deeper.  I remembered the show; then I remembered that I had some pairs of snow shoes at home. So I walked back and got the snow shoes; it was but this time it was 10x faster. Instead of 1 hour it took me 20 min.

One day my father was reading a survival book, it explained where to find the best berries. So my father read it out loud and told me where to find the very best blue berries! We tested this when we where camping and there they where! I remembered this and another time when my father and I where walking past this mountain. (In the summer) I said " Hey dad I bet there are allot of wild blue berries up there! " so my dad took me up there and we found a whole field filled with all kinds of berries!

Journal 53: Triolet

The floor is white stone
and the walls are red
It seems that I am not alone
The floor is white stone
My brother is standing and not lone
It seems that I want to go to bed
The floor is white stone
and the walls are red

The people are wide crowds
and the building is black
For many they see cows.
The people are wide crowds
For very few they see them bow
In the building that had a crack
The people are wide crowds
and the building is black

Journal 52: You and Nature

I feel nature as a tool, man makes buildings, cars, etc; nature helps animals, trees, grow and develop. Nature can have some properties that scares and disgusts you. This one time there where two spiders on my ceiling. It really freaked me out when I woke up and one was just laying on my hand.

Spiders seem to be the main reason for all the freaky stuff happening. It was really gross when I found out that they where breeding in the house. I found white sacks that looked like little bobbles in the shape of a round sack.

There are still some properties of scenes, creatures, and patterns in nature that fill you with wonder and awe. The mountains in Alaska and Idaho are so wonderful, it looks so cool when white snow just covers the top. The forget me not in Alaska, looks like a shiny blue flower, in fact, it is!

Nature is everywhere, in the ground, trees, even you and I are part of nature. Nature existed since the beginning of time. All it needs is a particle of anything, two molecules of any element, or even void is nature, the only way for void to exist is in a black hole, which would turn it into nature.
